Adopted by the Government of the Canary Islands, in the session of 14 October 2021, the Agreement modifying the conditions of access to tourist accommodation establishments in the Canary Islands during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in compliance with section four of the aforementioned accord

From the publication in the BOC, the hotel and non-hotel facilities of the islands will not have to ask their customers for proof of being free from the disease.


The Agreement amending the conditions of access to tourist accommodation establishments in the Canary Islands during the COVID-19 pandemic was published today in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, which temporarily suspends the conditions established in sections 1 and 3 of the single article of Law Decree 17/2020, of 29 October, as well as its subsequent amendments made by the Government Agreements of 23 June and 30 August 2021 (BOC numbers 129, of 24.6.2021 and 181, of 3.9.2021).

The favorable evolution of the epidemiological situation and the high vaccination rate achieved, both at regional, national and international level, as well as the safety provided by the COVID certificate requirement for passengers arriving in Spain as a final destination, allow you to relaxed, restrictive, albeit with the necessary prudence recommended by the experience accumulated in the development of the pandemic, in compliance with the precautionary and precautionary principles referred to in articles 4 and 6 of the decree law 11/2021, of 2 September, which establishes the health alert regime and measures for the control and management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Canary Islands.

In other words, the obligation to present the COVID certificate to access tourist accommodation facilities and hotel and non-hotel facilities in the Canary Islands should not require its customers to be accredited to be free from the disease.
